On more than one occasion, I've been tired, worn out and a bit flustered coming to Church. I'll think to myself, how do I lead if I FEEL so grumpy???
The answer is: not well.
We each need to realize that each of us on the WAPT team are worship leading......no matter if we are putting the words on the screen, filming with the camera, or we are singing our heart out in the congregation. We need to lead coming out of place of freshness. Here's some practical tips that have helped me along my journey to Church on Sundays:
1. Remember that my attitude is MY responsibility.
- it isn't anyone's job to "pep" you up....and you don't HAVE to listen to your flesh if someone gets on your nerves. If you REALLY want to, you can be nice.
2. Real devotion involves your will.
- make a quality decision to bless the Lord, even above your feelings.
3. Love the Word!!
- the power inherent in the word has the power to make you HAPPY!!
4. Enter the House with Gladness!
- Psalm 100! Serve the Lord with GLADNESS, not sadness. Come to church with a song in your heart before you get there - smile at someone - and watch how you can transform the atmosphere around you!
