THE WAVE: RECAP: Part 4

Friday, August 14, 2009

This past week a number of us had the awesome opportunity to go down the VA Beach for the Wave conference. It was truly a life-changing couple of days. Each session was practical, convicting and inspiring. They seemed to build on each other and flow like only God could have arranged. I've asked a number of the team members who went to give us an update on their experience at the conference.

Here's what Emily had to say about last week's conference.

"Everyone was so committed to the work that God was doing through the church. They recognized the needs of their church as the call of God in their life, and they humbled themselves to do anything that was needed. Example: a full-time staff pastor saw me walking to my car in the rain and he walked with me with his umbrella through 4" deep puddles even though he was in a suit. Also, all the worship peeps recognized what an honor it was to serve and do it to the best of their ability."

and Kelly said.

"Something that impacted me a lot was when Ed Young painted the picture of the people hanging out in the marina, slapping each others' butts, not realizing that there was another man, not too far away, drowning. It challenges us not to be like that, in our own comfort circles, but to be on the look out for those in need. "

Amen! Excellent points girls...everyone was full on, and concerned about "others" just like Ed's message! So grateful for their inspiration.
